The things we go for love

Image
I feel like I’m beginning to categorize Kristen Hannah. It doesn’t make me love her books any less though. This took place in the northwest and on the ocean. There is always a hard lesson  but so tugs at your heart   This book is about a girl that is working so hard to overcome the hand she’s been dealt. She is so mature. She recognizes how her mom is a mess. I can’t imagine seeing that in high school. She’s so motivated!! This is also about a woman going though a very tough part of her life. She returns home to her mother and is immersed in her childhood memories, family business, and family culture   When these two ladies’ lives merge… is where the real story begins. I very much enjoyed this book. My whole heart wanted to meet them. It always makes me wonder if there are “real” people out there with these same stories. I think 4.1/5 ?

Girl Last Seen

Mystery/thriller that definitely keeps you guessing !!!  I constantly wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next.  As you could guess by the title it’s about two girls that go missing….13 years apart. The first girl was missing for 3 years but escapes her captor at age 13.  It’s then 10 years later where another 10 year old goes missing.  The first girl becomes obsessed with the case, and the book follows the twists and turns of a missing persons case.   Now….it was definitely good—like I said-/I wanted to constantly keep reading…yet I feel like afterwards I was still left with some questions that weren’t quite answered and nicely wrapped up with a little bow for me 🤣 That annoys me, not gonna lie.  It hey, maybe everything was answered and I was too dense to figure it all out….another very real possibility 🤣. Would still recommend!  3.8 of 5 (due to my unanswered questions)

Running Scared

This book was REALLY good.  I feel like it’s a marriage of a Kristin Hannah book mashed together with a mystery/thriller.  So good.  Definitely recommend. Wasn’t sure exactly how to give a briefing of it without giving things away… so I included the write-up on the back of the book ;).   Strong 4 of 5 stars ;)

The Good Sister

This book is really good….and different. Have you read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine?? It’s oddly like that mixed with a suspenseful mystery/thriller.  The story goes back and forth from the main characters (2 sisters) childhood and the present time. One of the sisters has major sensory issues and the other looks after her quite a bit….or so it seems…??…. ;). Throw into the story a complicated mother relationship, a boyfriend, a husband, and things get interesting!  Definitely worthwhile reading!  A solid 4.
